The Coffin Award is for that person who never ceases to amaze you with their compassion, courage and action for justice.

It is for the professor who fosters a sense of activism within you.

It is for the friend who initiates creative ways to involve students in peace and justice work.

It is for the professor who provides a real understanding of global citizenship.

It is for the peer who makes work for justice a priority amid the chaotic campus life.

It is for the person on campus who shares personal stories and stimulates your passion for the possible!

Past winners include Prof. Robert Bellah and Prof. Nancy Scheper-Hughes. This year is the first time we honor students as well for their amazing and inspiring contributions to campus life and the world.

The winning professor and student are asked to share inspiring words during an Award Ceremony with Reception that will take place during Interfaith Awareness Week in late February. If you would like to stay up to date with all the latest news, join our mailing list.

The William Sloane Coffin Award is made possible by the generous support of First Congregational Church of Berkeley and Progressive Students of Faith.
